In the framework of the programmatic contract of the Self-Help Promotion Program of Chania with the Municipality of Chania, lectures entitled “The phenomenon of addiction: causes, treatment, self-help / self-help in the school community” were given to teachers of the 1st Gymnasium of Kissamos. The speech took place in the school on 26 April 2023.
The aim of this action was to inform and raise awareness among teachers about the phenomenon of addictions and the prevention of psychosocial problems in the school community.
Indicative questions that were approached:
- What is the phenomenon of addictions?
- What are its causes?
- What is the role of teachers in preventing addiction and other psychosocial problems?
- What can we do to prevent psychosocial problems at school?
The discussion was participatory and particular emphasis was placed on the problematic relationship that children may develop with internet applications.
